Nic Cook
OWNER
FOUNDER
& BOYS CLUB DIRECTOR
Nic Cook founded Future Volleyball in 2019 with the help of his best friend and former Co-Director, Jacob Stone. Since then, he has dedicated himself to building a program that not only develops elite athletes but also fosters a culture of growth, respect, and excellence.
Nic’s volleyball journey began at the age of 10 when he first stepped onto the court as a club player. His passion for the game led him to Pfeiffer University, just outside Charlotte, North Carolina, where he committed to play Division II volleyball. However, his true calling was in coaching, and after moving back home, he spent three years as an assistant director at another club before taking the leap to create Future Volleyball.
With multiple top-15 national finishes and a track record of coaching some of the most successful athletes to come out of the Midwest in the last decade, Nic has proven himself as a leader in the volleyball community.
His coaching philosophy is simple—put the athlete first. He believes in individualized training, building trust, and developing players in a way that maximizes their potential. Rather than being a coach who yelling drowns out from the sidelines, Nic fosters an environment where athletes feel supported, challenged, and empowered to succeed both on and off the court.
Future Volleyball is more than just a club to Nic—it’s a family. He takes pride in working alongside his mother, Michelle Cook (Girls Club Director), and his younger brother, Zac Cook (Girls Assistant Director). The connections he has made through volleyball have shaped his life, and his goal is to provide every player who steps into the gym with the same passion, love, and lifelong relationships that the sport has given him.
Under Nic’s leadership, Future Volleyball continues to thrive, not just in competition but in developing well-rounded athletes who excel in the classroom, display strong sportsmanship, and carry a deep appreciation for the game.
